Winding Down

There are a lot of "lasts" starting to happen.  Floyd graduated from obedience school Wednesday night having learned but not mastered sit, down, touch, wait, stay and come.  Unfortunately he's really only interested in obeying when there's a treat reward and he's very timid and thus not at all social with the other dogs.  Should be very interesting to see how he does when we board him this weekend while we go away.

After graduation I headed across the street to this lovely extravaganza for our last book group discussion.  We read Laura Hillenbrand's UNBROKEN about Olympic athlete and POW Louis Zamperini.  An inspiring read and one reason we chose the book was because he was coming to speak the first week of June at ACSC but he's since cancelled due to health issues.  We were bummed but the book is really quite wonderful.
The restaurant was very good (fish tacos) and we had a lively discussion about the book, babies and upcoming moves.  10 months have zoomed by and I'm really going to miss these girls...however, we get to do a baby shower for Lauren Friday morning so we'll have more fun then!
