Baltimore

Tom had Monday off work for President's Day so we decided to take the hour drive to Baltimore and make a day of it.  Have been there briefly for a couple of auditions and we drive by it on our way to NJ but I had never wandered the city.
The stadium where the Ravens play welcomes you into the city and just a block or so beyond there is Camden Yard where the Orioles play.

First stop was The Baltimore Basilica

The crypts are in the basement of the cathedral

The whole place had been refurbished and this was difference between the old and new crypt

This huge library is right across the street but was closed because of the holiday
Up the street further is the Peabody Institute which is the highly respected music school associated with Johns Hopkins.

The George Washington statue was also under renovation…...

We parked at the Visitor's Center and checked out their displays...

 Thought this was interesting…..

Also decided to take advantage of the free parking at the visitor's center and took a quick walk around the inner harbor

Sampled some yummy chocolate bar flavors at the McCormick store…..

It was beautiful out but still very cold!

USCG Taney which was the last surviving Coast Guard ship of Pearl Harbor is one the historic ships docked in Baltimore Harbor
